Starring LIEBHERR LTM 1500 and LTM 1300 cranes, the world’s biggest airplane Antonov An-225 Mriya and a 117-tonne generator.
In May 2016, we loaded a 117-tonne generator onto the world’s biggest airplane, Antonov An-225 Mriya. The airplane transported the generator to a refinery in Australia.
The Antonov is 84 metres long, has a wingspan of 88.4, and weighs 175 tonnes when empty. Its maximum takeoff weight, including cargo and fuel, exceeds an incredible 600 tonnes.
Using our LIEBHERR LTM 1500 and LTM 1300 cranes, we accomplished the generator loading without a single glitch. The whole event was perfectly timed and expertly coordinated. After all, most of the Czech media reported on the successful loading and takeoff of the airplane.
