A LIEBHERR LTM 1500 crane in action with a special extender to its telescopic boom.
The renovation of the Petřín funicular and the Nebozízek stop in Prague required not only special landscaping to allow the crane to stand stable, but also the deployment of a special extender to the telescopic boom for the LIEBHERR LTM 1500 crane. Using this extender, the boom can extend to an incredible 84 m.
The action was prepared and planned down to the last detail for over six months. The final implementation was then carried out by several dozen experienced professionals, who had to tackle some formidable obstacles.
This video shows not only the crane journey to Petřín but also the progress of placing the actual concrete elements. The most distant element was placed at a distance of 52 m from the crane axis and weighed 23 t.
